I led this project - concept and implementation of a circuit inside the statue.
Process
We picked one metaphor to embody the concept of "sonification", inspired by one of the most familiar poet phrases in the world, "Mon oreille est un coquillage Qui aime le bruit de la mer (My ears are shells, fondly hearing the sound of the sea), as Jean Cocteau composed. We decided to focus on this scenario, hearing the sound of sea shore from a shell. We made a mold of shell and embedded a hardware that converts input in color sensor to seashore sound. On the table top projecting mapping that shows sea wave animation, Shelltone generates a seashore sound.

Outcome
Exhibited in Inter College Music Concerte 2012 as a varsity student artwork.
